The cause of his death, however, remains unknown as of the time of this report.

There are unverified reports that the actor battled lung cancer for over a year before his death.

However, TheCable Lifestyle could not independently verify this claim.

Gbatami was said to have begun his acting and filmmaking career under Adebayo Salami, the actor popularly called Oga Bello.

He started pulling the weight of fame in the Yoruba movie industry shortly after graduation in 2004.

Until his demise, the filmmaker produced and featured in several movies including ‘Emi nire Kan’, ‘Wonyosi’, and ‘Salaye’.

Several of his fans and colleagues in the movie industry have taken to social media platforms to pay their last respect to him.

The development further stretches the list of celebrities who have passed away in the past few months.

In October, Rico Swavey, the ex-BBNaija housemate, died — a few days after he was involved in a ghastly car accident.
