A new nightclub, 2:45, has entered Lagos’ nightlife scene with a spectacle that has sparked conversations online.
The club officially opened on Thursday, December 11, just as the city geared up for its December festivities.
Days after the opening, media personality Akin Olaoye shared a video on X showing a performance inside the venue that quickly drew attention.
The clip showed a white woman dressed in a glittering, fish-like costume, dancing inside a large pool while holding a bottle of liquor.
The performance was projected on a massive screen inside the club, with several clubgoers seen filming the display on their phones as they watched.
“Club 2:45 in Lagos last night. They brought a different edge to nightlife,” Olaoye wrote while sharing the video.
The footage triggered mixed reactions from Nigerians on X, with some users questioning the safety and purpose of the performance.
Others wondered what was entertaining about the water-based display.
One user noted that such performances should only happen if trained first aiders and safety equipment were on site, while another jokingly likened the act to bringing a river goddess from Osun to Lagos.
“In a country with little to no respect for anything health and safety,” another noted.
