Damini Ogulu, Afrofusion artiste known as Burna Boy, has come hard for AKA, South African rapper, on the heels of his tension-inciting comments about Nigeria’s relationship with South Africa.
The comments were widely perceived to be xenophobic.
The past two days have witnessed heightening tension between the two countries on account of the repeated attacks and killings of Nigerian citizens living in South Africa and public figures in Nigeria have taken to social media to register their frustration about the trend.
AKA had spoken on the rivalry between the two nations.
“South Africa and Nigeria is the continent’s BIGGEST RIVALRY … a SIBLING RIVALRY because we are brothers and sisters … I also hate losing to Australia for fucks sake. Let’s pull together as Africans and stop dividing ourselves. This whole narrative is stupid!!!,” he wrote.

AKA had made previous comments that did not go down too well with a lot of Nigerians, including Oludemilade Martin Alejo, Afropop singer better known as Ycee, who had earlier engaged him in a fierce war of words over his inciting outburst during the 2019 African Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Burna Boy, however, took to his Twitter handle to speak his mind on the trend, and warned AKA to better have security forces protect him the next they meet.
In a flurry of tweets, he also vowed to never visit South Africa until the authorities put the xenophobic attacks to an end.
“Okay, I have been away from social media personally until today. Ordinarily, at a time like this, I should come here and say something to try and calm the situation because my dream has always been to unite Africa and make us realize that we will Literally rule the world together,” he wrote.
“But Today After watching the killing of my people in South Africa the same way we have all watched it happen a few times in the past. Fuck all that! I personally have had my own xenophobic experiences at the hands of South Africans and because of that…..
“I have not set foot in SA since 2017. And I will not ever go to South Africa again for any reason until the South African government wakes the fuck up and really performs A miracle because I don’t know how they can even possibly fix this.
And @MI_Abaga it’s Fuck @akaworldwide from now on. And if you down with him, it’s Fuck you too. I respect you too much, please Don’t throw my respect out the window cuz I swear you will fly out with it.

“This goes against everything I stand for. But at what point do we take action? I understand that years of oppression have confused South Africans to the point where they see the people who came to their defense during their oppression as their enemies and then worship their oppressors.”
“And @akaworldwide i knew you was retarded but I didn’t know it had gotten this bad. Next time I see you you better have a big security bro,On Gambos Grave ur gunna need it.

Meanwhile, Zambia Football Association (ZFA) has canceled the international friendly game against Bafana Bafana on the heels of the recent xenophobic attack going on in the country.
