A Nigerian woman identified as Favour Igiebor has revealed why she destroyed her husband’s passport at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos.
Over the weekend, a video of Igiebor damaging her husband’s passport at the airport began circulating on social media.
The couple and their children appeared to have arrived in Nigeria from Europe. In the clip, torn pieces of the passport are seen strewn on the floor.
In the footage, someone confronts the woman about her action and she replies saying: “I tore it. Is it yours?”
Igiebor was also heard yelling at her husband saying: “If you want to sleep there, you can sleep there”.

Defending her actions in another video on Monday, Igiebor insisted that she did nothing wrong.
She claimed that she has been “suffering in my marriage for years” while accusing her husband and his family of oppression.
Igiebor also accused her husband of neglect. She asked people to understand her side of the story before jumping to conclusions.
“The issue has been going on for a very long time, I have just been dancing to the tune till I arrived in my motherland, Nigeria, and I did what I did,” she said.
“You have to ask what happened, don’t just look at the action alone. I am not a mad woman who would just come and act like that. I have my reasons, I have gone through so many things.
“When it gets to your neck, you have to act. I could have done what I did in Europe where we’re coming from but I didn’t want to make him go through a lot of stress that was why I waited till we got to Nigeria.
“Don’t make comments without knowing what happened. I have gone through a lot of family issues here and there every time. My husband cannot speak and this took me a long time because he is the one controlling my page, he is the one that has everything.
“I cannot continue suffering because I have suffered with my husband for years. Then just like that, they want my suffering to be chartered away. I know men will never accept it but men whose sisters have gone through the same thing will understand.
“Is it when I die that you people will say this woman did not speak out? I gave him my actions so that he will know that I have been bearing it.
“I know the pains I’m passing through, I know what I have seen. I cry every night and day after three kids. I want to reap what I have sown with him.”
