‘Long Live Lagos’, the highly anticipated documentary chronicling the life and career of Grammy-winning Nigerian artiste Wizkid, will premiere at the 2025 Tribeca Film Festival.
The Tribeca festival is an annual film festival in New York City showcasing a diverse selection of film, episodic, talks, music, games, art, and immersive programming.
Notably, Nigerian actress Stephanie Linus previously served on the festival’s jury in 2023.
In an Instagram post on Wednesday, the festival organisers announced that ‘Long Live Lagos’ will be one of the featured documentaries at this year’s edition.
The film will trace Wizkid’s remarkable journey from his humble beginnings in Lagos to his rise as a global music icon.
It will highlight his influence on both the African and international music scenes, featuring insights into his creative process, career milestones, and cultural impact.
This year’s Tribeca Festival, scheduled to run from June 4 to June 15, will also include live conversations and special performances, adding an interactive element to the screenings.
