Michael Adeyinka, the Nigerian disc jockey better known as DJ Tunez, says Wizkid paid him N10 million to play ‘Fuji Vibe’ at a London concert.
‘Fuji Vibe’ is one of the standout songs on Asake’s ‘Lungu Boy’ album.
DJ Tunez was among the headliners at the London Afrocarnival concert held at the Koko Camden Arena in the United Kingdom.
The Nigerian-American DJ entertained the cheering concertgoers with hit songs like Ayra Starr’s ‘Sability’, Shallipopi’s ‘Cast’, and ‘Trabaye’ by Burna Boy’.
While thrilling concertgoers, DJ Tunez paused and announced the generous payment from the ‘Made In Lagos’ hitmaker to the cheering crowd.
He also gave a shout-out to Wizkid while describing ‘Fuji Vibe’ as a “deep African song”.
“Wizkid just sent me N10 million to play this song,” he said.
“Welcome to the Afro carnival edition. We are taking you inside Africa. That is the Koko. DJ Tunez is in the building. Star Boy this is you.”
In ‘Fuji Vibe’, Asake delivered a mixture of Afrobeats and Fuji sound.
DJ Tunez has served as Wizkid’s official DJ for more than half a decade.
He gained popularity after ‘Iskaba’, his first production with Wande Coal.
He has collaborated with other artistes such as Sarz, Burna Boy, Busiswa, Reekado Banks, and Omah Lay.
