For the second time in two years, Wizkid is taking a break from touring over health concerns.

The ‘African Bad Gyal’ singer took to Twitter on Monday afternoon to apologise to fans, explaining that he needs to “get my health up” and that he will spend time with his children and family while he “recovers”.

“Sad I’m typing this but I’ll be moving dates on my tour to get my health up. I appeal to my real fans to understand nd pray with me,” he wrote.

“I’ll be spending time with my son’s nd family while I recover.”

Wizkid said the rescheduled dates for cancelled shows will be announced to his fans and that his next performance will be in London on September 29.

“My next appearance will be in London 29th sept. Apologies to everyone affected by this. New dates for cancelled shows soon,” he wrote.

Wizkid also apologised for his absence at the Made In America festival on Sunday. Tiwa Savage performed at the festival which was headlined by Jay-Z, J. Cole and The Chainsmokers.

Fans of the singer must be feeling a sense of deja vu as a similar scenario played out last year.

Wizkid had in December 2016 cancelled his shows for about a month after having toured extensively for almost two years.

Although he recently released his ‘Sounds From The Other Side’ EP, the singer has continuously worked on new music.

Last week, he informed fans that he was due to release a collaboration with American hip-hop star Future, but he would later shelve it.
