The Residence Afrika, a new reality show, is set to premiere with 24 contestants in March 2022.

The show’s debut season, which is tagged ‘The Quest Edition’ will involve participants from all English-speaking countries in Africa.

Kelechi Ukadike, chairman of Africa Network Entertainment Limited (ANEL), the company organising the reality show, broke the news at the show’s launch party on Saturday.

According to him, the grand prize for the show may be worth more than $500,000 (N206 million).

Ukadike, who is also the executive producer of the show, said the reality show will include tasks that will showcase the business skills, knowledge and innate talents of the contestants. 

“There is a possibility for the contestants to win more than $500, 000 because they will all have the opportunity to showcase their knowledge, talents and business skills throughout the show especially during brand tasks,” he said.

He also said all hands are on deck to ensure that viewers can vote for their favourite contestants by purchasing credits via digital solutions.

Ukadike disclosed that the show will also be available for streaming on its app which will be available on Google Playstore and the App Store.

He added that all contestants will apply online through a transparent audition process.

Also speaking, Jim Iyke, who is the vice-chairman and director of the show, said the planning of the initiative lasted for 2 years.

He added that the first season will air in Africa, the US and UK.

“After two years of planning and preparation, the show’s first season will be aired in Africa and around the world including the United States and the United Kingdom.”
