Tems, the Grammy-winning Nigerian songstress, dazzled the audience with her performance at the Formula 1 recent anniversary launch event.
Formula 1 held its 75th anniversary season launch event at London’s O2 Arena on Tuesday to flag off the beginning of a new season.
The evening featured the presentation of the 20 drivers, and 10 team principals, and the unveiling of each team’s 2025 season liveries — colour schemes, designs, and branding applied to F1 cars.
The season is expected to kick off on March 14 and end on December 7.
Tems delivered a thrilling rendition of ‘Wait For U’, accompanied by an orchestra, to launch Aston Martin’s James Bond-themed livery. The car was showcased alongside its drivers during her performance.
A special moment. 💚

Tems, born Temilade Openiyi, started to gain popularity in 2020, courtesy of her collaboration with Wizkid on the song ‘Essence’.
In 2023, Tems earned her first Grammy for her contribution to ‘Wait For U’, the 2022 hit song by Future featuring Drake.
She clinched her second at the 2025 Grammy Awards for the ‘Best African Performance’ category.
Tems recently joined the ownership group of San Diego FC in the Major League Soccer (MLS) in the US — making her the first African female to achieve the feat.
