Olamide, the Nigerian singer, has come through with the visuals for ‘Uptown Disco’, his hit single featuring Asake and Fireboy.
‘Uptown Disco’ is the second track of ‘Ikigai‘, the rapper’s recently released an extended play (EP).
Directed by Jyde Ajala in the United States, the video opens up with Fireboy being chased by a police car while speeding in a red Lamborghini.
The scene then switches to the three artistes belting out their lyrics in a colourful ambiance alongside video vixens.
“I say freeze/ Who call police? Eh/ Lowkey they know I be like Chuck Norris, eh/ Pure heavyweight I get block everyday, eh/ Fuck what you think, they can talk anything, eh/ Uhn uhn/ Baby mi, where you dey for the summer oh/ Obo, I dey find my own Chioma oh/ Sunmọmi, there’s no need to dey kan ra oh/ Buy you designer/ Timmy Turner oh/ Baby ma j’ubadi f’emi,” they sing.
Olamide, the Lagos-born rapper, is revered as one of the biggest artistes in Nigeria.
He has earned a plethora of nominations and awards for his craft.
After releasing ‘YBNL’, his second studio album, Olamide launched his music label in 2012.
The record label has produced talented musicians like Lil Kesh, Adekunle Gold, Fireboy, and Chinko Ekun.
In 2020, YBNL signed a joint venture deal with Empire Distribution, a US music label and publishing company.
