Mo Abudu, the chief executive officer (CEO) of EbonyLife Media, has put out the trailer for ‘Blood Sisters’, her much-awaited original series with Netflix.

In a statement on Thursday, the filmmaker announced that the project will be launched globally on May 5.

“Today, Netflix and EbonyLife Studios  announce our pulsating limited series that will launch globally and exclusively on Netflix on May 5, 2022,” the statement reads.

“This is officially Netflix’s first Nigerian original series as per the press release issued by Netflix today.”

The crime thriller sees Ini Dima-Okojie and Isime play the lead roles of two friends, which are Sarah and Kemi respectively.

The movie follows the story of Sarah who is engaged to her dream man, Kola. The man turns out to be physically abusive and controlling.

Despite Kemi’s vocal misgivings, Sarah is determined to press on with the wedding. On the day of the traditional engagement ceremony, tragedy strikes and Kemi accidentally kills Kola.

Fearing that no one will believe that she acted in self-defence, the friends decide to cover up the death, unintentionally setting off a catastrophic series of events.

The project features several movie stars including Kate Henshaw, Uche Jombo, Gabriel Afolayan, Deyemi Okanlawon, and Ramsey Noah.
