The less than two-minute clip, released on Tuesday, sees the introduction of Iman Vellani, the Pakistani-Canadian actress, who plays the role of Kamala Khan.

It follows the struggles of Khan, a Muslim American teenager, who grew up in Jersey City and tried to fit into the society until she gained her own powers.

The video kicks off with Khan in the office of a high-school guidance counselor, while doodles of speech bubbles, hearts and devil horns pop up on screen.

It later reveals the personality of the 19-year-old as a superhero nerd with unusual cosmic powers.

In the video, Khan, who is making her onscreen debut, demonstrates surreal abilities. This includes ability to launch energy blasts and create glowing stepping stones to walk in the air.

Towards the end of the clip, Khan flaunts her prowess as she gets a comic-accurate, red-and-blue costume and throws some cosmic punches with a giant, glowing fist.
