Juma Jux, the Tanzanian singer, has put out the visuals for ‘God Design’, his song featuring Nigerian rapper Phyno.
Jux took to his Instagram page on Wednesday to share the colourful video — a few weeks after the audio’s release.
The song is a dedication to his wife Priscilla Ojo, whom he traditionally married in Lagos.
The romantic tune sees Jux pouring out his affection, praising Priscilla’s character and their “divinely orchestrated union”.
Phyno spices up the track with Igbo-infused rap verses, blending Bongo Flava with Nigerian flavor.
“Ayo mi ti de/ This is God design/ Forever you will be mine/ Nwa di mature/ Spirit gi pure/ You came and open up the door/ Say she go dey for rich and poor/ She classy and demure/ Kwechiri gi I go secure/ Out of a mili you are the one/ Everyday I am wanting you more/ Yeah you dey give me life,” the lyrics read.
Set in Lagos, the music video highlights and celebrates the love story of Jux and Priscilla.
Actress Iyabo Ojo, socialite Chioma Ikokwu, influencer Enioluwa Adeoluwa, and Liam, son of late singer Mohbad, also made special appearances in the video.
The nearly four-minute video is produced by Verse Network Tanzania and directed by Kenny.
The lovebirds held their traditional wedding ceremony in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, in February.
Priscilla and Jux’s love story unfolded in July 2024, when they publicly announced their relationship on social media.
Born on March 13, 2001, Priscilla is a graduate of Media and Theater Arts from Babcock University.
She made her acting debut at 14 in the movie ‘Beyond Disability’.
Her performance earned her a nomination in the Best of Nollywood (BON) Award for the ‘Best Child Actress’ category.
Jux, born Juma Mussa Mkambala, began his music career at 16 and signed with A.M Records in 2008.
His music is a blend of R&B, Bongo Flava, and Afrobeats. His hit songs include ‘Enjoy’, ‘NitasubirI’, ‘Fashion Killer’, ‘Sugua’, ‘Juu’, and ‘Nidhibiti’.
He has also earned many awards for his craft. He is considered one of the biggest artistes in Tanzania and East Africa.
