Genevieve Nnaji would be featuring on ‘Farming’, a semi-autobiographical movie by Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Nigerian-born British writer and director.
The movie, which had its trailer released by Lionsgate, American entertainment company, also features ‘Snowfall’s Damson Idris, Kate Beckinsale, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, John Dagleish, Jaime Winstone, and Akinnuoye-Agbaje amongst others.
‘Farming’ follows the story of Enitan, a young Nigerian boy who is sent to the United Kingdom by his parents to give him a better life. But, instead, he becomes the leader of a white skinhead gang.
The movie portrays stark realities with respect to the struggle for acceptance among people of colour in the Western world and is driven by such themes as identity; love; betrayal; power, amongst others.
‘Farming’ made its debut at the 2018 Toronto International Film Festival and won the Michael Powell Award for the best British feature film at Edinburg International Festival in June 2019.
The film is scheduled to hit the UK theatres in October 2019.
