‘Back n Forth’ is the sixth track off ‘Adedamola’, Fireboy’s fourth studio album.

The song opens with Lagbaja’s incredible saxophone play and delves into the complexities of a relationship stuck in a cycle of indecision.

Fireboy expresses his yearning for a deeper connection, pleading for his love interest not to push him away, but to nurture their bond.

“What else should I do to let you know how I feel inside for you? Inside for you, can you feel the love? Inside, inside Ka jo ma back and forth and back and forth,” the lyrics read.

“B-b-back, soole, back and forth you and I, we could be, we could be so much more, yeah Şe temi, ma se ti ẹ.”

The song’s production is immaculate, with top-tier instrumentals that blend seamlessly with Fireboy’s falsetto and Yoruba-infused ad-libs. Lagbaja’s Afrojazz influence also elevates the song.

The music video, directed by the renowned Clarence Peters, is a visual feast. It begins with a striking scene of masked saxophonists, led by Lagbaja himself.

It features a vintage aesthetic, with Fireboy and his love interest dressed in old-fashioned attire.
