Oladapo ‘D’banj’ Oyebanjo, the Nigerian singer, is set to release a new album titled ‘The Entertainer: D’Sequel’.

In a social media post on Tuesday, the self-acclaimed ‘Koko Master’ said the highly anticipated project will be released on August 16.

D’banj also shared a spy-movie teaser involving Don Jazzy, Mavin Records founder; actor Gideon Okeke, media personality Jimi Akinsola, and himself.

The short clip showed Okeke and his men, who appeared to have abducted D’banj, taunting him during interrogation.

Responding to his abductors, the singer said: “Just because the soldier rests his gun doesn’t mean he’s no longer a shooter. People keep asking me if I’m back, if I’m back. How can I be back when I never left? I am the entertainer”.

Jazzy, who was on a mission to rescue his friend, then got to a rooftop vantage point and fired shots at Okeke and his men.

‘The Entertainer’ album was first released in 2008. The project boasts hit songs such as ‘Mogbono Feli Feli’, ‘Fall In Love’, and ‘Suddenly’. Don Jazzy also produced some of the hit tracks on the album.

D’banj and Don Jazzy’s friendship in the music industry dates back to 2004. In 2006, the duo co-founded the now-defunct Mo’ Hits Records.

The label housed famous artistes like Wande Coal, Dr SID, D’Prince, and K-Switch.

But in March 2012, Don Jazzy announced that D’banj had left the group.

Earlier this year, D’banj celebrated his music career spanning two decades.

He also praised the record producer for his contribution to his career in the industry.

In April, the singer tendered an apology to the former members of Mo’ Hits Records.

He also paid tribute to his former colleagues in his latest song ‘Since ’04’. He followed up with ‘Koko‘ in June and ‘Worthy,’ a collaboration with Senegalese legend Youssou N’Dour and Nigerian-American singer Chechi Sarai.
