Ayra Starr, the Afrobeats singer, has performed two singles from her newly released album on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon.
Dressed in a golden outfit paired with her signature mini skirt, the songstress dazzled the audience on Tuesday’s edition of the show.
Starr began the night with a medley of ‘Last Heartbreak Song’, showcasing her amazing vocals. The song, which originally features American singer Giveon, set the tone for an unforgettable performance. She followed this with an energetic rendition of ‘Woman Commando’, accompanied by dancers on stage.
Both tracks are from ‘The Year I Turned 21’, her new album, which was released on May 31.
The performance marked her first-ever appearance on US television.
Born Oyinkansola Aderibigbe, Starr became a viral sensation after releasing her hit track ‘Bloody Samaritan’ in 2021.
Under the music producer Don Jazzy’s Mavin Records, the songstress has gained popularity in the industry.
With numerous awards and accolades, Starr has become one of the continent’s fastest-rising artistes.
She was among the Nigerian music stars nominated for this year’s Grammy Awards.
She was nominated in the maiden ‘Best African Music Performance’ category for her hit song ‘Rush’.
The music star, however, lost to Tyla, the South African singer.
