Adekunle Gold, the Nigerian singer, has released the official music video for ‘Many People’, a standout track from his recently acclaimed sixth studio album, ‘Fuji’.

The video, which debuted on Tuesday, is a vibrant homage to the iconic Fuji music scene of the late 1900s.

Directed by Perliks Definition, the visuals are a meticulous recreation of the era, complete with classic afro hairstyles, vintage outfits, and bold, over-the-top makeup.

The track, the eighth on the ‘Fuji’ album, features a powerful collaboration with two legends of the genre: Yinka Ayefele and Adewale Ayuba.

Adding a modern twist, the video also stars the BBNaija Season 10 winner Imisi alongside her colleague and Adekunle Gold’s lookalike Mensan.

“Many many (many people)/ Many many (many people)/ Many many many (many people)/ Many many many people say/ Ẹja nla no be small fish o/ All of my dark days are gone/ Ohun oju ri made me strong/ I’m proud of the man I’ve become/ You can’t have what is my own/ Wọn ni mo savage I know (awọn wo?)/ The more you look less you know,” they sing.

Gold rose to prominence in 2015 with his hit track ‘Sade’, a highlife cover of One Direction’s ‘Story of My Life’.

After a stint with YBNL Nation, he departed and has since built an impressive independent career through his own imprint Afro Urban Records, alongside a strategic deal with Def Jam Recordings.
