Nigerian rapper Candy Bleakz has lamented that she was attacked and robbed outside her apartment in South Africa.

The 26-year-old artiste, known for her energetic street-hop style, shared harrowing details of the incident on Thursday.

In a series of videos posted on her Instagram Story, a distressed Candy Bleakz was seen bleeding from the mouth and nursing bruises.

In one clip, the songstress directly confronted a police officer at the scene, exclaiming, “Officer, why did you let them rob me like this? Why? You were there. You let them go”.

The singer explained that the assault occurred while she was having a cup of coffee outside her residence. She said a group of unidentified men approached her, attacked her, and made off with her gold jewellery.

“Took the gold but very much alive. No be RIP, everywhere good. Robbed me of my gold but left my phones. Hit me like i owe them millions, but everywhere good. All this done in front of securities in a secure environment. Ambulance did not come after making us wait. Police said their law does not even allow them to break thief car. Everywhere good, we dey alive to work the money,” she wrote.

The news has prompted an outpouring of support from her fans and fellow artistes in the Nigerian music scene.

Candy Bleakz, whose real name is Akiode Blessing Mariam, is a Lagos-born and bred artist signed to Chocolate City Music. She has built a reputation for consistently releasing hits that define her unique position as a female rapper and street-hop artist in the industry.
