In 2023, the Hollywood star was cleared of all charges in his sexual assault trial in London.

The nine sex offences covered a period between 2004 and 2013 when Spacey served as artistic director at the Old Vic theater in the British capital.

In an interview with Piers Morgan, the 64-year-old actor said he is out of money. He also said his house in Baltimore “is being foreclosed on” and was being sold at auction in the wake of allegations against him.

“Well, it’s funny you asked that question, because this week, where I have been living in Baltimore, is being foreclosed on,” he told Morgan.

“My house is being sold at auction.”

Asked by Morgan why the house is being foreclosed, Spacey replied: “Because I can’t pay the bills that I owe”.

Morgan also inquired if he was facing bankruptcy. In his reply, Spacey said, “There’s been a couple of times when I thought I was going to file, but we’ve managed to sort of dodge it, at least as of today.”

Asked how much money he has, Spacey – who reportedly had a net worth of around $US70 million in 2022 – said he had “none. I still owe a lot of legal bills that I have not been able to pay”.

He added that the figure he owes is: “considerable. Many millions”.
