Idia Aisien, the Nigerian-American actress, has revealed that she survived an accident during her birthday trip to Croatia.

In an Instagram post on Friday, the actress shared a video of herself receiving medical treatment at the hospital.

Aisen said her leg was broken in three different places, adding that it was an “incredibly painful” experience.

The 33-year-old movie star said the incident inspired her to “make life easier” for people living with disabilities.

Aisien said she would create a clothing brand that caters to them, donate pieces of equipment to different centers across Nigeria, and provide financial support for families of persons with disabilities.

She expressed gratitude to her family and friends for supporting her after the accident.

“On July 6, 2024, what was supposed to be the best birthday of my life turned out to be one of the most painful experiences l have ever had,” she said.

“I broke my leg in three places and I could no longer walk.

“I didn’t know if I’ll be able to do the things I love, but I knew I would begin to do the things that mattered.

“I watched how people with disabilities are treated and I wanted to do my part to make life a little bit easier, because some of the basic things we take for granted were just so hard to do.

”To my family and friends who never left my side, all I can say is thank you. It has been an incredibly painful 8weeks.”

Born on July 4, 1991, Aisien started acting in 2017. She gained prominence in 2020 with her lead role in the remake of the 1994 Nollywood horror-mystery film ‘Nneka: The Pretty Serpent’.
