Bobrisky, the crossdresser, has lamented that she was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

This was after Isaac Fayose, brother of former Ekiti state governor, shared pictures of himself and Bobrisky, claiming they boarded the same flight to London.

In the early hours of Friday, the social media celebrity took to her Instagram page to post a plea for help, saying she was detained by the EFCC and badly injured. She also shared a video of her wounded arm.

Another video shows Bobrisky being dragged out of an airplane by airport officials. Reports suggest she was apprehended by the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) before takeoff.

The development comes about two weeks after Bobrisky’s apprehension at the Seme border for allegedly attempting to flee the country. She was transferred to the Lagos FCID in Alagbon for investigation.

How the crossdresser got out of detention, including any potential bail, remains unknown.

Bobrisky, the EFCC, and the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS) are under investigation by a House of Representatives committee over bribery allegations.

The crossdresser’s ordeal started after activist VeryDarkMan shared a purported audio conversation wherein the crossdresser claimed that she paid some EFCC officials N15 million to drop money laundering charges against her.

In the recording, she also claimed that she spent her six-month jail term in an apartment rather than Kirikiri prison due to the influence of “my godfather”.

The self-proclaimed transgender later described the viral recording as “fake” and threatened to sue VeryDarkMan for alleged defamation.

An investigative panel recently revealed there was no evidence that Bobrisky slept outside the prison during her six-month jail term.
