Knorr blended music, art, and culinary heritage at ‘Fuji Reignited,’ a special event celebrating the release of Adekunle Gold’s latest album ‘Fuji’.
Held at The Sphere in Lagos on October 10, the night was a vibrant homage to the sounds and flavours that define Nigerian culture.
The event saw Knorr serving meals inspired by the themes and spirit of Gold’s new album, creating a multisensory experience for guests.
The celebration culminated in a powerful performance by Gold, who delivered tracks from Fuji like ‘Don Corleone,’ ‘Coco Money,’ and ‘Many Many People,’ alongside hits including ‘Ogaranya’ and ‘Pick Up’.
Speaking on the collaboration, Damilola Dania, food demand creation lead, Unilever Nigeria Plc, said, “Knorr has always been part of our everyday lives, from our kitchens to our celebrations. This collaboration with Adekunle Gold and Victor Ehikhamenor was about celebrating the things that make us who we are: our food, our art, our music, and our culture.”
On his part, Gold described his album as a love letter to his origins and highlighted the personal significance of working with Knorr.
“Fuji is one of the Nigerian sounds I grew up on and fell in love with,” he said.
“Working with Knorr made this moment even more special because it feels personal. Growing up, I was always sent to buy Knorr Chicken cubes, and that memory stuck with me. So, when I say, “O dun bi Knorr chicken” in Don Corleone, it comes from a real place. This collaboration feels like coming full circle.”
Adding a visual layer to the celebration, Ehikhamenor, the renowned artist, unveiled a special artwork commissioned for the event.
The piece, inspired by the ‘Fuji’ album and Knorr’s Nigerian heritage, was displayed in an intimate gallery space, reinforcing the evening’s message that culture is sustained through sound, art, and shared meals.
‘Fuji Reignited’ was more than an album launch; it was a powerful statement that Knorr is not just an ingredient in food, but an enduring part of Nigeria’s homes, stories, and cultural fabric.
