In a recent interview, Dijk was asked to name his top five songs and three Afrobeats songs made the list.

He named Omah Lay’s ‘Holy Ghost’ as his most-listened song, while Asake’s ‘Lonely at the Top’ and Rema’s ‘Charm’ made the top five list.

The Liverpool FC defender showered his encomium on the music genre, saying “it gives me vibes”.

Dijk added that he listens to Afrobeats songs before matches because they help keep his face smiling and inspire a winning mentality.

“Number one is Omah Lay’s ‘Holy Ghost’. Top. I listen to it the most. The second one is ‘Feel So Good’ by Mase. Very good. Classic. The third one will be Notorious BIG… ‘Mo Money Mo Problems’. Nice little vibes. You know what I mean? So that is the one,” he said.

“Number four would be Asake with ‘Lonely at The Top’. It is a nice song. Nice vibes. Sun is shining openly. It will be nice.
