Uti Nwachukwu, the former winner of Big Brother Africa (BBAfrica), has made his Nollywood debut in ‘Aki and Paw Paw’, the remake of the 2002 classic ‘Aki Na Ukwa.’
The much-awaited remake premiered on Sunday at the Imax Cinema in Lekki, Lagos state.
Speaking with TheCable Lifestyle at the event, the TV presenter and model said it was a “mind-blowing” experience for him to have featured in the film.
“Featuring in this movie was a great experience for me, going from watching your favourite movie characters on the screen to now being with them on set, it’s mind-blowing,” he said.
Nwachukwu, who described the film as his first in the country’s movie industry, said he will be actively taking part in a number of Nollywood movies.
“This is my first major movie…fans should expect to see me more in movies and TV shows,” he added.
‘Aki and Paw Paw’ sees Chinedu Ikedieze and Osita Iheme reprise their roles as hilarious brothers (Aki and Pawpaw).
The film’s premiere had in attendance top movie executives and actors including Ikedieze, Iheme, and Toyin Abraham.
The film, produced by Chris Odeh and directed by Biodun Stephen, is scheduled to hit the cinema on December 17.
It also features Amaechi Muonagor, Anita Asuoha (Real Warri Pikin), Stan Nze, MC Lively, Beverly Osu, Juliet Ibrahim, Hanks Anuku, and Chioma Okafor.
