The University of Ibadan (UI) says it has now automated its process for issuing transcripts.

In an announcement via its website, the institution said the transcript issuance process covers both undergraduate and postgraduate degrees.

Many Nigerians, in the past, have groaned about how delays in the transcript issuance process cost them opportunities.

Others have also lamented about losing money, scholarship offers, and job opportunities due to such delays.

In a recent development, UI said its issuance process is being digitised.

“You can now request your transcript online by clicking on the appropriate link,” the institution added.

Alumni members who wish to obtain their transcripts are expected to log into the university website and fill in their details.

This includes names, date of birth, department, year of graduation, faculty, email, phone number, and matric number.

It is understood that UI pegged the processing fee for transcripts to be sent out of the country at around N7,200.

Among the documents needed for the process are a statement of results and a payment receipt.

Candidates are also required to fill in the details of where or to whom they want to address the transcript.

It is not clear how long the process takes as UI’s media spokesperson declined to speak when contacted.

The Ibadan-based varsity now joins a growing list of public universities in Nigeria with a digitised transcript issuance system.
