The music analytical company said the chart is the “first and only standard music chart in Nigeria that combines data from all platforms, including radio and television.”

Other top and already existing charts on its platform include Artiste Top 100, Top Streaming Songs, Top Radio Songs, and Top TV Songs.

TurnTable Charts started its weekly chart on July 9, 2020. In the same year, the music hub launched its first aggregate music chart, which combined freemium streaming, radio, and television in the country.

The platform makes use of data from Radiomonitor, a British radio tracking company, for its airplay chart. It also employs the use of Boomplay, Audiomack, and YouTube for its Top Streaming chart.

Speaking about the launch, Ayomide Oriowo, the co-founder of the music hub, said the chart represents a historic moment for music documentation in the country.

“The TurnTable Nigeria Top 100 music chart represents a historic moment for music documentation in Nigerian music,” he said.
