Trevor Noah, South African comedian, has been named as host of the sixth MTV Africa Music Awards in his hometown, Johannesburg.

Trevor Noah is currently the host of “The Daily Show” by Comedy Central.
Noah will be taking the wheel of the 2-hour telecast at the Ticketpro Dome in Johannesburg.
The show will feature performances from the likes of Alikiba, Babes Woduma, Casper Nyovest, to Nasty C, Ycee and Yemi Alade.

Wyclef Jean, Eve, Marlon Wayans, Anthony Anderson and Trevor Nelson are some of the former hosts of previous MAMAs.
“I’m a huge fan of African music and achievement, and it’s going to be a massive pleasure celebrating them both at the MTV Africa Music Awards 2016 in my own home town of Johannesburg”, said Noah.
