Jimmy Adekoya, a former president of the Redeemed Christian Fellowship (RCF) at Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), has sparked controversy on social media after marrying his male partner Seamus O’Donovan.
The Microbiology student tied the knot with his partner in the United Kingdom.
Photos of the wedding ceremony recently surfaced online, with Jimmy flaunting his ring beside his partner, prompting social media reactions.
One user, identified as Popo, claimed to have known the former students’ campus fellowship president during their university days and expressed shock at his transformation.
Popo shared throwback photos of Jimmy and recounted how he used to be an ardent Christian and president of the RCF.
“From pastor to mistress. I remember OOU days, this m**o and his cohorts no go let me sleep on Fridays. Everyday program. Pastor Jimmy of RCF, please what changed? I’m crying,” the user wrote.

Jimmy responded to the Popo’s tweet by reposting it on his Instagram story with the caption: “When your only offense is being a gay man who loves Jesus”.

This has sparked mixed reactions on social media, with some users condemning Jimmy’s actions as a “mockery of Christianity”. Others have defended his right to live his life as he chooses.
Both Jimmy and his partner have since switched their Instagram accounts to private amid criticism.
