Traci Braxton, the US singer and actress popular for her stint in ‘Braxton Family Values’, the reality TV show, has passed away at 50.

Kevin Surratt, her husband, told TMZ that she died on Saturday morning after a long battle with esophageal cancer.

“We have come to a time where we must inform the public that after a year of privately undergoing a series of treatment for esophageal cancer our beloved Traci Braxton has gone on to glory,” he said.

In an Instagram post, Kevin Surratt Jr., Traci’s son, also confirmed her death. Kevin said his mother “fought to the end”, and that “she’s at peace and not in pain anymore.”

“When I heard the news about my mother being sick first thing she said was I’m going to fight and beat this. She fought to the end and today she’s at peace,” he wrote.

“I love my mother forever and this hurts so much but I’m at peace knowing she’s isn’t in pain anymore. I love you ma I’m going to miss you.”

The ‘Last Call’ crooner was the younger sister of Toni Braxton, the award-winning singer.

She was renowned for her roles in films such as ‘Sinners Wanted’ and ‘Chaaw’, as well as ‘There’s a Stranger in My House,’ a stage play.

She gained global prominence after featuring in ‘Braxton Family Values’ alongside her siblings.

Magical Elves, the production company behind the hit seriesalso put out a statement to mourn her.

“The Magical Elves team is deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Traci Braxton. Traci was such a light in this world and having the opportunity to work closely with her on ‘Braxton Family Values’ for over a decade is something we will cherish forever,” it read.
