Tom Holland, the English actor famous for portraying ‘Spider-Man,’ has sustained a mild concussion during production on an upcoming film project.
According to a source who spoke to CNN, the incident occurred on set but did not require hospitalisation.
The actor is expected to take a break “out of precaution” but is expected to return to filming in a few days.
“Tom experienced a mild concussion and out of precaution, he will take a break from filming and is expected to return to work in a few days,” the source stated.
The representative emphasised that the incident was contained, adding, “Thankfully, no one else was affected and production will continue on as planned”.
‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ is currently in production. It will be the fourth web-slinger film led by Holland.
The 29-year-old actor first rose to prominence as a child star, starring in the musical Billy Elliot. He transitioned to film with a critically acclaimed debut in the 2012 disaster drama ‘The Impossible’.
His career reached global heights in 2016 when he was cast as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, starting with ‘Captain America: Civil War’.
Holland has since headlined a successful Spider-Man trilogy and appeared in the epic ensemble films ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ and ‘Avengers: Endgame’.
Beyond the superhero genre, he has demonstrated his versatility in film like ‘Cherry’ (2021) and ‘Uncharted’ (2022).
