Maje Ayida on Tuesday admitted that he cheated on Toke Makinwa while they were married, according to an eyewitness account.

The eyewitness, a writer named Harold Benson, was present in court during the hearing of the suit instituted by Ayida at a Lagos high court.

Ayida is suing ex-wife, Makinwa, over her tell-all memoir which was published in November 2016.

Kachifo Limited, publisher of the memoir, On Becoming, was also sued alongside the television personality.

Ayida says the book contains “defamatory words” and “exaggerated fabrication”. The fitness expert and television personality is demanding N100m in damages.

In the explosive memoir, Makinwa had alleged, among other things, that Ayida gave her a sexually transmitted infection (STI) and that he once described their marriage as his worst mistake.

Makinwa alleged that at some point, she agreed to make a sex tape with him “to keep my man.”

The radio presenter also said Ayida never wanted to have children with her, and that he made this clear to her.

According to a tweeted account of the hearing on Tuesday, Ayida denied giving her an STI.

Ayida was quoted as saying he has no medical record of having an STI but noted that he did not always use a condom when he had extra-marital intercourse.

He admitted that he was sexually involved with at least three women and that he impregnated his ex, Anita, when he and Makinwa had issues.

Ayida was also quizzed about his son with another woman, one Crystal Cullingham.

He disclosed that he had the son before marrying Makinwa and admitted that he never informed her about the child, but that she found out eventually.
