Speed Darlington has alleged that Tiwa Savage, the Nigerian songstress, released her sex tape by herself to stay relevant.

The singer took to his Instagram page to put out a live video where he waded into Tiwa’s sex tape blackmail controversy.

Tiwa Savage had a few weeks ago alleged that some individuals were in possession of a video of her sex romp.

The songstress had also vowed that she would not succumb to the threats just for doing “something natural.”

In a frenzy, a video showing an intimate moment between Tiwa and her new lover would later surface online.

This attracted a flurry of media commentaries, some showing support and others disapproving of the songstress.

Wading in, Darlington dismissed Tiwa’s blackmail claim. According to him, the ‘Koroba’ crooner released the video to “stay relevant” in the music industry.

“She did it herself. Tiwa released it on her own. All this talk about ‘somebody blackmailed me’ is a lie. I don’t believe anybody blackmailed Tiwa. Tiwa released that video on her own because she wants to stay relevant,” he said.

Georgina Onuoha, an actress, earlier argued that celebrities did Tiwa a disservice for praising her over her mistake.

Ossai Success, aide to Ifeanyi Okowa, Delta governor, charged Tiwa, to apologise to Nigerians for the leaked tape.
