An eyewitness told Daily Trust that the hoodlums invaded the house and started destroying valuables before setting it ablaze.

The source said police arrived at the scene to disperse the mob while they await the arrival of firefighters.

“All you can hear is sounds of explosions from the house as the fire continues to damage belongings,” the eyewitness said.

The state police were said to have arrested some suspects in connection to the incident.

“Thank God they have caught them. These wicked people. Police have caught them. The police will definitely take action on them,” some persons were heard in a now-viral video speaking in the Hausa language.

The singer is famous for his performances during the campaign rallies of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano.

The attack also comes a few hours after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Abba Yusuf, the candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), as the governor-elect of Kano state.

Abba defeated Yusuf Gawuna of the APC, Wali Muhammed of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Labour Party’s Abdulahi Mohammed.

The state police spokesperson didn’t pick up or return his calls when TheCable Lifestyle reached out to him on the matter.
