The Weeknd delivered an exhilarating performance at the Super Bowl halftime show on Sunday — and it has gotten fans talking on Twitter.
The Grammy-winning artist, who was the sole performer, blessed the nearly 100 million viewers with spectacular offerings at the Raymond James Stadium, Tampa Florida.
It is understood that the 65,890-capacity stadium was filled with just 25,000 fans – including 7,500 vaccinated healthcare workers — due to the restrictions that were occasioned by the coronavirus pandemic.
The Canadian singer performed hits like ‘Can’t Feel My Face’, ‘Earned It’, and his more recent ‘Blinding Lights‘ at the US football game played to determine the champion of the National Football League (NFL) for its 2020 season.
The R&B star, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, was flanked by dancers with bandaged faces, wearing a Givenchy couture suit encrusted with rubies.
Shortly after the Super Bowl, fans and fellow celebrities took to Twitter to marvel at the 30-year-old’s performance.

the Weeknd did something truly remarkable tonight. Employing industry workers, dancers, creatives, lighting, sound & everyone else out of work; of which he paid for himself. I’d be lying if I didn’t scream seeing the entire support for ‘Worth It’ being POC. Well done XO

This is an amazing half time show and I need to go to a club and cry dance to The Weeknd every Tuesday night for the entirety of 2022. I mean that was brilliant!

I told my dad The Weeknd's parents are Ethiopian. He asked me why a Nigerian hasn't headlined the Super Bowl yet. I told him our parents refuse to let us be great and follow our passions. He's been quiet for 5 minutes.@GuardianNigeria @FasikaMona @Ethoipa1
