Starring Yinka Davies, Ben Ogbeiwi and Thin Tall Tony, the play gets its storyline and characterisation from Nigeria’s national anthem.

Funke Sodade, producer and writer of ‘The Anthem’, described it as a depiction of an “utopian Nigeria where fault lines do not exist”.

Wale Rubber, Dayo ‘Doxa’ Benjamins-Laniyi, Lovette Otegbola, and Chimela Azurunwa also featured in the play.

“The Anthem’ is a very rich story about Nigeria that draws characterisation from the national anthem,” Sodade said.

“We are delivering an epic tale that portrays a utopian Nigeria where fault lines do not exist. In between rehearsals, it’s been an inspired atmosphere even among the cast and crew.

“We are pumped up about what Nigerians and non-Nigerians alike are about to see in ‘The Anthem’.”
