Temilade Openiyi, Nigerian singer better known as Tems, has been nominated for the 2021 BET Awards.

The 25-year-old singer was nominated in the Viewers’ Choice: ‘Best New International Act’ category.

BET International took to its Instagram page to announce the nominations on Monday.

The Nigerian was nominated alongside Elaine, South African singer; Arlo Parks and Bree Runway, British musicians.

Bramsito and Ronisia, two French acts, and MC Dricka, a Brazilian singer also got on the nomination list.

The BET Awards 2021 full nominees list was released last month with Wizkid and Burnaboy, Nigerian music stars, also nominated for the ‘Best International Act’ category.

Last Friday, the singer had put out a soulful cover of ‘Ordinary People’, a hit song by John Legend, American songwriter.
