“I’ll be starring in ‘Citation’, legendary filmmaker Kunle Afolayan’s next feature film! Deeply humbled and excited to be shooting alongside many film legends in my on-screen debut,” she wrote.

On the heels of several meetings, Afolayan announced that his crew had finally commenced the movie’s shooting across three countries: Nigeria, Cape Verde, and Senegal.

‘Citation’ tells the story a 21-year-old female student on a Nigerian campus who drags a trendy university don to the institution’s senate body on account of the latter’s treatment of her.

The unfolding event eventually pitches her world against that of the respected academic, baring the realities that obtain in a male-dominated clime.

Speaking on the movie’s theme, Afolayan said: “Citation will create awareness on the violence against women in the public and private sphere. It’ll educate society on enforcing women’s rights.

“The movie will encourage and embolden women to stand up against mistreatment and abuse by a patriarchal society. It has been designed to propel women to aspire to become successful leaders.”

Among those starring in the movie are Joke Silvia, Jimmy Jean-Louis, Ini Edo, Yomi Fash-Lanso, Adjetey Anang, Gabriel Afolayan, Bienvenu Neba, and Sadiq Daba.
