The flutist took to his LinkedIn page on Sunday to break the news in a post in which he shared pictures of the canine.

“My dear LinkedIn friends, I have a sad story to tell you today. You all know by now that I love dogs, and my dogs in my house are treated like honored family members. My all times favourite dog was BALEWA,” Tee Mac wrote.

“Born January 2009 on my balcony by his mother Nefertiti, his papa was the famous OBJ (Olusegun Obasanjo Snoopy). You can see in one photo when I celebrated his first birthday.

“BALEWA was chosen as ‘BINGO’, the dog in Papa Ajasco, and became the most famous TV dog in Nigeria.”

On what caused its death, Tee Mac stated that Balewa had suddenly stopped eating and passed away last Thursday.

“He was intelligent, humble, wonderful with children. Last Monday he stopped eating his usual morning and evening meals and I called the veterinary,” the flutist added.

“We put him on drips daily because even chicken breast was rejected by his stomach.

“Thursday 15.7.2022, 5 pm he got his drip set up and the doctor gave him an antibiotic injection with some Valium to reduce the stress in his body. BALWEA suddenly closed his eyes and left for the other side for the dog heaven.

“He died peacefully without pain but left a household behind with people and four other dogs missing him terribly.

“He gave me for 12 ¾ years unconditional love and attention. I could walk at night with him knowing that he will defend my life if needed. Rest in peace BALEWA. The memories and photos are all I have left of BALEWA.”
