Adesua Etomi-Wellington and Kehinde Bankole are reprising their roles as Chike and Grace in the sequel to the 2019 movie ‘The Set-Up’.

In the prequel, a former drug smuggler got more than she bargained for after a businessman hired her to assist in his scheme of marrying a wealthy heiress.

Things quickly turn for the worse as she realises that there is more to the scheme than meets the eye.

The sequel is set four years after the events of the prequel.

Chike (Adesua) has barely come to terms with her life as an agent for an international organisation.

She is forced to risk everything she holds dear once again to go after a criminal named Usi (Nancy Isime) who kidnaps Grace’s (Kehinde Bankole) daughter in order to blackmail Chike into doing her bidding.

Chike and Grace must reunite and build a new team to take down Usi and save Grace’s daughter.

‘The Set-Up 2’ is written and directed by Chinaza Onuzo.

It stars Adesua, Jim Iyke, Kehinde Bankole, Tina Mba, Uzor Arukwe, Kate Henshaw, Nancy Isime, Blossom Chukwujekwu, Stan Nze, Lota Chukwu, Tope Olowoniyan, and Lillian Afegbai

The film is produced by Inkblot, Film One Entertainment, and Anakle Studios.

It is set to hit cinemas on August 12, 2022.
