Rachel Bakam, Nigerian TV presenter and actress, has been buried in Abuja — barely a few days after her death.

She had passed away last Tuesday from anaemia after suffering a relapse following her initial hospital discharge.

It was an emotional moment for the family and colleagues of the deceased who gathered at the burial on Friday.

Armstrong Bakam, a relative of the late TV presenter, had mourned her demise, saying: “We will really miss her because her death is shocking and devastating news to the family.

“In fact, the whole family is actually troubled and quite a number of people are yet to believe that it is actually true. Quite a number of people felt she was recuperating but the news of her death is a huge shock.

“She was my niece because her father was my first cousin. She was always smiling and she was down to earth.”

Bakam hailed from Fadia Tudun Wada in Zangon Kataf LGA in Kaduna state. She studied English and Theatre Arts at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) and Digital Filmmaking at New York Film Academy.

Prior to her death, she was the CEO and managing director of Rayzeds Media Ltd, founder and president of the Nigerian Water Ski And Wakeboard Federation (NWWF).
