Tara Durotoye, the founder of House of Tara, a Nigerian makeup line, has described the vandalisation of her store by a mob during the #EndSARS protest as disheartening.

The entrepreneur visited the store located in Lagos state on Monday to assess the extent of damage perpetrated by the attackers.

In video clips shared on her Instagram page, she could be seen inspecting various parts of the store and mall in the company of a lady.

In a post accompanying the footage, Durotoye explained that she had to summon courage to visit the store after the unfortunate incident.

The 43-year-old lawyer also said she had interacted with other entrepreneurs also affected by the vandalisation, enjoining them to brace up.

“I got the courage to visit my vandalized store yesterday to see the extent of the damage,” she wrote.

“The destruction to economic assets in this singular mall alone is disheartening. Spoke to some entrepreneurs who are broken as a result. I always find comfort in the book of wisdom. This is where I found comfort today.”

She, however, failed to mention which of the stores in Lagos that was vandalised.

Tara is the wife of Fela Durotoye, a business consultant, leadership expert, and motivational speaker.  The couple tied the knot in 2001.

In the past few days, there have been attacks on private and government-owned properties across the state following the crisis that erupted as a result of the #EndSARS protests.

The attacks were triggered by the shooting of unarmed #EndSARS protesters at Lekki toll gate on Tuesday.

TheCable Lifestyle had earlier reported how the clothing store of Yomi Casual, a fashion designer, was vandalised and looted by suspected hoodlums.

The #EndSARS protest started as a campaign against misconducts of the now-disbanded special anti-robbery squad (SARS) and expanded its focus to overall police reform.
