Taiwo Ajai-Lycett, a veteran Nollywood actress, has said that only unintelligent people would steal resources meant for the development of a country.
The 75-year old actress said this while speaking to TheCable Lifestyle at a recent event.
“How does it make sense for anybody to steal money from your own country and take it to those who don’t need the money and you think you are smart? I think it is dumb and unintelligent. I can’t imagine what they think of us.
“The movie Oloibiri afforded me the opportunity to visit the Niger Delta and the sight broke my heart”, she said.
The Dazzling Mirage actress, who received a national award, Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) in 2006, said her best is yet to come.
“My best is yet to come, look at all the films I am doing, addressing issues that nobody is addressing. I just finished a film titled ‘Madam President’ that tells the story of a woman becoming a president in Nigeria and I keep working.
“I want the government to know that everyone should have a share of the national cake, especially if we are baking it. Why should we be so rich and yet so poor? Why should some people have access to all the money and yet not develop the environment for the less privileged?”
Ajai-Lycett also told TheCable Lifestyle that the secret of her good looks in old age is service to others.
“I look good because I take care of other people. When you make other people happy, you will be happy and everything about you will be going well”, she added.
