Tacha Akide, former Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) housemate, says the reality show did not help her life.

The reality TV star was one of the prominent figures during the 2019 edition of the show christened ‘Pepper Dem’ due to her controversial personality.

She was later evicted following a physical confrontation with Mercy Eke, the eventual winner of the show’s season four.

The entrepreneur has since amassed a huge fan base known as Titans and snagged endorsement deals in addition to increased popularity — a development many attributed to her stint on the show.

But in a short viral TikTok video shared via her Twitter page on Thursday, Tacha dismissed insinuations that BBNaija was what paved way for her.

Her reaction had come as a response to a fan who had claimed that the reality star wouldn’t have been famous without the show.

“Na Big Brother help your life na…,” the fan had written.

In her reaction, Tacha said the reality show only gave her a platform. She also claimed that the show would not have been interesting without her.

“Helped whose life? What? Oh my gosh!! Una dey crack me up for this app o, legit! Big Brother gave me a platform, Tacha gave Big brother a freaky show. What’s pepper dem season without Tacha like? Get your facts right,” she wrote.

“And listen, it is not compulsory to put a comment on every post, some post, just jump and pass if you do not have anything to say, nobody will beat you, okay? Stop exhibiting your foolishness on TikTok.”

Her comment has continued to elicit mixed reactions, with some Nigerians accusing her of being “ungrateful” on social media.

But replying in a follow-up post, Tacha wrote: “Wait how are you ungrateful saying the truth!!? Y’all pained!”
