Shehu Abdullahi, Super Eagles defender, has welcomed a baby boy with Naja’atu Muhammad, his wife who is a Kannywood actress.
Abdullahi announced the arrival of their bundle of joy in a post on his verified Instagram page on Thursday.
The Nigerian international also said Naja’atu and the newborn are in good health.
“We are thrilled to announce our baby boy, mother and baby are in good health. We thank Allah! We were blessed with the arrival of our son this morning. We appreciate your prayers,” he wrote.
The couple tied the knot in June 2021 in Kano at a quiet ceremony that was attended by a couple of Super Eagles stars and Maniru Dan Iya, deputy governor of Sokoto state.
Naja’atu has featured in a number of Kannywood movies including ‘Murjanatu’, ‘Auren Gaja’, ‘Hakkin Rai’, and ‘Harira’, among others.
The Athletic Club Omonoia Nicosia player, on the other hand, is currently on national assignment with the Super Eagles as they battle Ghana in a doubleheader fixture that will determine which nation will book the ticket to the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
The Eagles arrived in Kumasi for the first leg of the playoff round against Ghana, which is billed for the Baba Yara Stadium at 8:30pm on Friday.
The return leg will be played at the MKO Abiola National Stadium, in Abuja on Tuesday.
