Annie Idibia, the Nigerian actress, has reacted to the donation of a music studio to the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) by 2Baba, her husband.
On Tuesday, 2Baba had commissioned the new facility at the varsity amid cheers from staff and students of the institution.
But in a video on his Instagram page, Efe Warri Boy, the comedian, had claimed the event did not get the deserved publicity.
The entertainer also tackled some media outlets over their seeming penchant for “negative news.”
“Dear Nigerian bloggers @official2baba just built a multi million Naira studio for OAU what happened to that news. It’s not negative I guess??? Sorry guys, it’s Obafemi Awolowo University,” he wrote.
Corroborating the comedian’s opinion, Annie, who also shared the video, said her husband would have attracted more media attention if the news was about 2Baba impregnating a lady.
“@efewarriboy you have said it all!!!! If the news was ‘2Baba give person belle or na him give Cora belle’ e go trend dieeeeee… true or false e go still trend everywhere ooo everywhere go burst,” she wrote in a mixture of English and Pidgin.
The film star, however, said she is not worried about the low publicity gotten by her husband’s donation.
According to her, what mattered was the impact the project would have on the student and society at large.
She also commended 2Baba for the initiative.
“But, seriously though…. my brother @efewarriboy … trend or not … the most important thing is that the legacy is there and it’s gonna be there forever!!!” she added.
“And as long as that university still exists in Nigeria, our country… In another 5/10/15 years etc … the next generation will still benefit from it .. And that’s what is important!!! It will always be there .. it will be written in history !!! Our children’s children n next generation dem go happy n proud of their father.
“Baba no Dey make noise , It is what it is !!Man don’t even care if it’s out there or not ! He made a promise to the faculty of music student in OAU .. And he delivered, than expected!”
