Pretty Mike, a Lagos-based socialite, has called out his secret admirers who are sending him Valentine gifts without identifying themselves.
In a post on his social media page on Friday, the nightclub owner, whose real name is Mike Eze-Nwalie Nwogu, asked those staging such to stop.
Mike wondered why anyone would consider sending people gifts without the receiver having a knowledge of the sender.
In one of the video clips, the socialite is seen querying a young man who came to inform him of the gift.
Mike said while the idea may be appealing to others, it contrasts his way of doing things. He revealed that he had received a similar gift earlier in the day.
“This is the second package I’m getting today. They may think it’s sweet. But let me tell you something, we’re in a day and age when people need to understand what they are receiving. I’ll not accept any package from an anonymous or secret admirer,” he said.
In a post accompanying the video clips, he described the gesture as “ridiculous”, warning friends against giving out his address to people.
“Honestly, this is getting ridiculous, it might sound or look cute to some of u, but this is definitely not my style. I guess the person is feeling like, let me start two days before Valentine, just incase Mike gets bombarded with gifts,” he wrote.
“Dear secret admirer, I’m not that important and I’m not a big deal, don’t allow my instagram page fool you,…. and I don’t know who is giving out my address out there.
“Only a few of my friends knows my place, Yomi, Toye, Dapo,O Juwon, Uche, Hagar, Tosin, and Lala. Please, if you guys are the ones coordinating this prank… let’s put a stop to it.”
Mike said those sending such gifts should reveal their identities or rather hook up with him in a public setting if they are indeed serious.
“Better still, let them come over to the office at Cubana, or if they are truly serious, give dem my account details…..thanks. Before person go send pre-package Kaynmate.”
