Stella Damasus, the Nollywood actress, has opened up on her failed marriage, admitting that she made certain mistakes.

The actress spoke of her marital ordeal in the latest episode of her eponymous podcast.

Damasus warned ladies against ignoring possible red flags while rushing into marriage.

The actress, while explaining how she became the victim of a failed relationship, said she played into her confirmation bias.

Damasus said she thought her partner was her soulmate, hence interpreting events the way they suited her.

“I’ve heard experiences with dreams and visions that I choose how I want to interpret it to suit what I want, to give me the answers that I want. It has happened to me. I thought this person was my soulmate,” the actress said.

“He does the same thing that I do. We were both intelligent.

“Everything is falling into place, we are so similar we have the same kind of vision. We talk the same we do the same. Last last e don cast, everybody will still chop breakfast.

“I’ve been there, I’ve made that same mistake, and guess what, I suffered for it. Don’t do that.”

Stella married her first husband Jaiyejeje Aboderin at the age of 21 in 1999.

The union welcomed two daughters, Isobel and Angelica.

Aboderin died in December 2004 shortly after a basketball game.

Three years later, she married Emeka Nzeribe but the marriage lasted seven months before a divorce.

Stella and Daniel Ademinokan got married in 2014. The marriage however crashed in 2020 — after their sixth wedding anniversary.
