The singer’s recent confirmation of his relationship with the lawmaker has set tongues wagging, but who is the woman behind the headlines?

WHO IS NATASHA?

Natasha Irobosa Osawaru is a politician and lawmaker in the Edo state house of assembly. She was born on November 14, 1994, into the family of Desmond Osawaru and Philomina Osawaru.

She hails from Egor LGA and is the granddaughter of billionaire Gabriel Igbinedion, a prominent businessman and philanthropist.

She is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). She currently represents the Egor constituency and serves as the deputy majority leader of the Edo state assembly, a role she assumed in 2023.

According to her LinkedIn page, Natasha holds a law degree from Igbinedion University and later obtained a master’s degree in Fashion/Apparel Design from the Parsons School of Design, New York.

Beyond politics, the 30-year-old lawmaker is an advocate for youth and women’s development. She has also focused her efforts on promoting policies that drive economic growth, social welfare, and infrastructure development in Edo state.

In 2024, Natasha was in the news after she was asked to leave the assembly floor over alleged inappropriate dressing and wearing of dark sunglasses.

NATASHA’S CONTROVERSIAL RELATIONSHIP WITH 2BABA

The spotlight beamed on Natasha on Monday after the 49-year-old singer made a surprise appearance at the state house of assembly during a plenary session, fuelling rumours about their romance.

The rumours suggested that Natasha might have contributed to the singer’s separation from his wife Annie Idibia.

However, 2Baba clarified his relationship with the lawmaker, emphasising that she has nothing to do with his separation from Annie.

He expressed his affection for Natasha, describing her as a “young, brilliant, and amazing woman”.

“Yes, I love her. I want to marry her,” he said in a now-deleted Instagram video.

In another deleted Instagram post, 2Baba shared a photo of the lawmaker, stating, “Now this is my world. Make una help me beg am to marry me”.

The posts triggered mixed reactions on social media — owing to the fact the announcement came barely a month after the singer announced that he and Annie had not been together for a while and were filing for divorce.

Annie, an actress and model, has been married to 2Baba since 2012, and they have two daughters together. However, their relationship has been plagued by rumours of infidelity and instability.

2Baba’s recent confirmation of his relationship with Natasha has led to intense media scrutiny, with many calling her names like “home breaker”.

However, Natasha has remained silent on the matter, neither denying nor confirming her relationship with the singer.
