Spotify has introduced a new personalised playlist ‘Concerts Near You’ to help users discover upcoming concerts in their area based on their music preferences.
Announcing the feature in a blog post on Thursday, the streaming platform said ‘Concerts Near You’ will be updated weekly with 30 songs from artistes performing nearby.
It added that each track will include event details and ticket links to make it easier for fans to secure their spots at upcoming concerts.
Charlie Hellman, vice president, global head of music product at Spotify, said the playlist is tailored to each user’s listening habit and will ensure they never miss performances by their favorite artistes.
“There’s nothing worse than realizing that your favorite artist played your town last week,” he said.
“Concerts Near You solves for that. This new playlist not only makes it easier for fans to find shows nearby, but it also gives artists a powerful new way of selling more tickets and filling venues with the audiences who love their music most.”
To power this feature, the streaming platform revealed it partnered with AXS, DICE, Eventbrite, and Ticketmaster to provide seamless ticket access.
The company also said users can stay updated by adjusting their app settings to share location data, enabling notifications, and following their favorite artists for personalised reminders.
